To review our previous outcome we found that we still lack of information about the skate park and the users. That cause the difficulty for us to continue our background research and ideation. So we determine to visit the site again together. For a more efficiency investigation we decide to go to the site at the peak time( 5pm~7 pm), hopefully we can meet more users skateboarding in the park therefore we could collect more useable user research. Before the observation we separate each group members’ responsibility. Me(Rayelene) would be in charge of video recording; Suki would be in charge of assisting job, such as giving suggestion of what angle we going to shoot, what scene we need, etc. She also came up with a storyboard the day before the observation.(Nice prepare); Xavier would be the one who engage the interview with the skaters. With this plan, our interview should run smoothly.
When we reached the site at 5 pm, something unexpected happened. There is only few people skating in the park. We doubted that we picked the wrong time. Despite, when we interviewed the skater(which is the only one skater in the park at that moment), he said that people usually come from 6pm at night. Through the interview with this skater, we know more information about the user habit and skating culture.

In this period, me and my teammate takes more photos and videos of the site, xavier did more editing to fulfil out site map, we keep doing what we can until 6 pm.

People keep coming after 6pm one by one, we got excited because that means our job was just began. We started to engaged the interview with other skaters.

The skaters in this park was very nice. When they knew we are interested in skaters and skateboarding culture, they were willing to share everything they know. In those interviews we collected huge amount of information including what the skaters think about this park, what are their most excited experience of skateboarding, how long do they skate, etc. we had a wonderful time with skaters today and we got basically all the outcomes that we need to the following stage.
