It was a sunny when our team reached the place to find different people busy with their installations in their respective event sites. We reached the place with our stuff after loading our materials into a truck arranged by the faculty .
While we were setting up our installation we encountered another problem. We realised that our monitor screen had broken . Also our code was not executing problem. Hence we had a tough time figuring out the solution through trial and error. The cause for damage was unknown .
Hence we quickly went to the nearest electronic retail store to find a similar screen. Luckily we came across the same model and bought it. It was 30 mins to the start of the event and we had to rush fast to get our installation working anyhow. Luckily after careful hit and trials , the code was fixed .
Hence the event started and people started approaching the installation with lot of excitement. We had our script and procedures ready to capture the user’s experience .
We first let them try the setup and then tested them through cognitive walkthrough and a questionnaire based on a 7 point likert scale. While one team member was taking the observations for the cognitive walk-through , others were busy managing and instructing the users through the walk-through. Hence eventually people got through all the tasks to achieve the objective of the game . It was a success as every age group enjoyed and interacted with the project. They either were motivated by the space fantasy theme or they were just curious to see the hologram projections .
After 4 hrs of a lively session at the Sk8 event, We were contented to present our ideas to the Sydenham local people. People were comfortable and fascinated by our installation in the skate park event . Many approached the installation after seeing the posters. People were happy and everyone was ready to experience the fun. They liked the idea behind the working of the installation . Hence, we could confirm that it was a success by the users feedback and experience on the final day
