Design progress and Iteration
Version 1.0
User shakes the mobile phone, data is transmitted to Processing, limits the acceleration on the X and Y axes between 0 and 50. According to this value, the PIN on the Arduino connected to the processing is assigned by Firmata.
LED strips effects
simple effect—light up
0~30 PIN0 is HIGH and the light is white.
30~40 PIN1 is HIGH for the pink light.
40~50 PIN 2 is HIGH for the red light.
To achieve the effect of controlling the light.
About Sensor
Karen recommended “GyrOSC” on Slack as a remote IMU sensor.
Set the IP address and port correctly, and connect with Hotspot of computer.

Apply LED strip effects from online tutorial.
We apply this effects when skater and audience interacting very actively. We modify the direction——it starts from both sides.
We apply this effects when audience interacting. We changed the color, it starts as red and changed to blue gradually.
We apply this effects when skater interacting. The color will change depending on another user—audience. When audience acts, the color will change to red from white.
Version 2.1
Add a speaker
We found that previous design does not provide a strong feedback while user interacting, we consider design some sound effect while it working.
When we try to play the sound of heartbeat, we found the bass of the sound can pass a strong vibration, so I changed my mind, we could provide a sense of touch rather than hearing
I spent a lot of time adjusting the synchronization of the sound and the lighting effect.
After that, we invited some classmate to try the heartbeat vibration, their reactions are about “Surprised” “Amazing” “Cool” “A little bit scared”.
According to these feedback, then we regarded this design as our design highlights. Now our design could bring multiply sensors experiences.
